On my sirius satellite radio I need to not only turn on the radio but the boom box itself. I have trouble turning it on because both need to be on but it is hard to know when the unit is completely on. Is there some sort of way to count seconds to make sure everything is on? Radio shack people told me to just unplug the radio each time I am done using it but I wonder if there is a better way.
I just leave the receiver power on all the time and use the boombox power button to turn the whole thing on and off. The boombox power button cuts power to the faceplate as well so I don't have to worry about remembering to hit both power buttons. It seems to take 10-15 seconds to power up and acquire a signal. Just turn it on, leave it alone and you should be good to go. Also, if it doesn't acquire a signal, mine makes a kind of pop noise after 20-30 seconds or so and that's how I know it's on but I'm not getting a signal. Hope that helps.
